I envy the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio its Chihuly sculptures. Detroit has a beautiful conservatory on Belle Isle, but it's too small for a Chihuly exhibit.
The Detroit Free Press just confirmed what I felt all through January: We had pretty much no clear skies and sunshine at all last month. No wonder I need this reminder that spring gets closer every day.
This was in the Campbell House, the oldest house in Toronto. Built in 1822, it was the home of Upper Canada Chief Justice Sir William Campbell and his wife Hannah. It's been restored to mid-19th-century elegance and is now a museum.
